Setting up your company in SMH - Start here

If you're new to SeeMeHired, this is the order to do things in. Work down the first list to get your company set up and your team invited, then use the second list to go through your first hire end to end. Each step links to the guide that covers it, so you can do one, come back, and pick up where you left off.

Before you begin

  • Who does this: whoever is setting the account up — usually an Admin.
  • Roughly how long: the setup list is typically done in one sitting. You don't have to finish it before posting your first job, but locations and job boards should be right before you advertise anything.
  • You don't have to do it alone. Your SeeMeHired contact will walk you through any of this — raise a ticket or ask on your onboarding call.

Steps

  1. Set your profile preferences. Your own account settings, before anything company-wide.

  2. Add your basic company information — name, contact details and the essentials that appear on your adverts.

  3. Write your company bio. This appears on job adverts, so it's doing recruitment work rather than just filling a field.

  4. Add your locations. Do this before job boards. Locations drive where jobs advertise, where interviews are held, and how roles appear on external boards. See How to Add and Edit Locations.

  5. Set up your job boards. Job boards are configured per location, or done through the integration page, so they can only be done once your locations exist. See Configuring your job boards in SMH.

  6. Link SeeMeHired to your website so your live roles appear on your own careers page. See How to Customise and Copy Your Job Embed Code.

  7. Decide on two-factor authentication or single sign-on. Worth settling before you invite people, so everyone joins under the same rules.

  8. Invite your team and set each person's role, which controls what they can see and do. See Adding a New Team Member to SeeMeHired.

What happens next

Your company is set up and your team can sign in. From here, work through your first hire end to end:

1. Review your templates — job templates, forms and emails
2. Post your first job
3. Send an application form
4. Set up and conduct your first interview
5. Send your first offer
6. Onboard the candidate
7. Look at what you can report on

Do locations before job boards

Job boards are configured per location, so setting them up first means going back and redoing it. If you operate several sites, get every location in before you touch advertising — it saves the most rework of anything on this list.

Common problems

How much of this has to be done before we can post a job?
Locations and job boards, realistically. You can post without the bio or the website embed, but a job with no correct location may not reach external boards properly.

Someone else set our account up and I've joined later.
You can skip to the second list. Ask an Admin to check your role gives you what you need.

We have more than one brand or site.
Locations handle that — each can carry its own logo and its own job board settings. Set them all up before advertising.
